Dry Needling

What is Dry Needling?

Dry needling is a safe and effective technique used to treat neuromuscular dysfunction that is causing pain or loss of function. This technique uses a thin, solid needle inserted through the skin into muscular tissue. Additionally, Dry Needling is often combined with electrical stimulation to further aid in pain relief and enhanced neuromuscular sequencing.

The goal of dry needling is to relieve local or referred pain and allow for increased ease of movement through a “hard reset” to the neuromuscular system. Dry Needling is one technique that compliments a larger, comprehensive treatment plan leading to increased function. Patients who receive this treatment often report pain relief and see an improved movement capacity.
